Today I came across this ad in June 2009, Carolina Country. They were offering a "Free" genuine cultured pearl necklace. We all know, nothing in the world is Free anymore. They did disclose you will pay shipping and handling. (But how much is that?)
I decided to investigate how free this necklace was, or at least find out the catch.
I visited their website http://www.stauer.com/ and there was the link to the free necklace. The icon cost was $0.00, and it reflected the original value/selling price of $295.00.
I went all the way to check out screen, to discover that shipping cost is $25.95.
Not bad for an originally priced item of $295.00 and average prices on the site for jewelry starting at $75.
So ladies if you want a quality pearl necklace you can get one at http://www.stauer.com/, for the low cost of $25.95 - Not Free, But I will still classify this item as a value steal!
